PNG keeps a transparent background. JPG fills it with your chosen background, or white if none is set.

How to make a can mockup

  1. Prepare the label. For a full wrap, export the whole printable band as one wide image. The left and right edges meet at the back of the can, so keep the seam area simple.
  2. Choose what the artwork covers. "Full 360° wrap" stretches your file all the way round. "Front only" keeps its proportions and places it on the front, with the rest of the can in the colour you pick.
  3. Pick the size that matches your product: slim 250 ml for energy drinks, standard 330 ml for soft drinks and beer, 500 ml tall for larger servings.
  4. Turn and export. Use the Side and Back views to check how ingredient panels and barcodes read.

Label proportions for each can

A full-wrap label is much wider than it is tall, because it has to go around the circumference. Use these ratios as a guide when setting up your artboard:

CanApprox. sizeLabel ratio (W : H)Suggested pixels
250 ml slim⌀ 5.3 × 13.4 cmabout 1.5 : 12400 × 1600
330 ml standard⌀ 6.6 × 11.5 cmabout 2.2 : 13000 × 1360
500 ml tall⌀ 6.6 × 16.8 cmabout 1.5 : 12800 × 1860

The top shoulder and base are bare aluminium, so keep important text away from the very top and bottom edges of the label.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the label seam?

At the back of the can, opposite the camera's default view. The centre of your artwork always faces the front.

Can I make a matte can?

Yes. Switch Finish to Matte for a soft-touch or satin look. Gloss reflects the studio light more strongly, like a standard printed can.

Why does my design look stretched?

In full-wrap mode the image is stretched to the label ratio for the chosen can. Either set your artboard to the ratio in the table above or use "Front only".

Is there a transparent PNG option?

Keep the background on Transparent and click Download PNG.

Do you keep my label file?

No. The label is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
